Contour for iPhone Now in the App Store!

I couldn’t be more pleased or proud to announce the official release of Contour for iPhone.  The gang at Mariner Software have done a great job.  Now you can work on your story brilliance on the go as well as at your desk or on your laptop.  And at $4.99, the program is a total no-brainer…even if you DON’T own the desktop version.

Great job to Michael, Corey, and the entire Mariner gang.

  1. great to have. a few questions though.

    can you sync your desktop structures onto the iphone, or is it only a one way movement from iphone to desktop? The description “Use Contour on its own or export it to your desktop version of Contour when you get back to your Mac.” makes it sound like there is no way to export files wirelessly, and it leaves out all mention of import.

  3. The deal with syncing is that it’s more of a file transfer. Mariner is working on making it more seamless, but for right now the way it works is that you export from your desktop Contour and then upload to the iPhone app. Do the opposite to move the file from iPhone to desktop. Not the greatest solution, but apparently Apple has some limitations that Mariner is working around.

  4. @totallywrite, can you be more specific in the steps of exporting from desktop and then uploading to iphone App. i can see how to export from a desktop, but how do you get that file onto your iphone? thanks.

  5. to anyone reading this thread wondering how to transfer files back and forth between iphone and desktop versions of countour. to get from phone to desktop, there is little icon in the top right of app that allows you to email a file to yourself. then import it when on your desktop. from your desktop to iphone: with phone on same wifi as your desktop, click the little wifi icon at bottom middle of app. type that URL into your browser. wait awhile (depending on your wifi speed and browser) and an image of your iphone contour app appears in your browser with buttons to press for uploading files. easy to do, even though there are no instructions.
